Hi- My 2015 Q5 has close to 85K miles. I took it in recently for oil change at the dealer. After sometime, the service technician told that the timing chain is extended by 5" and will need to be replaced in next 5K/10K miles. Quoted around $2500 for timing chain replacement!

The'07 4.2L V8 is a 4-valve/cylinder engine with timing chains. The engine code is BAR. I've never had one apart, so I can't say for sure, but sounds like chains instead of belts at least in the '07 code BAR 4.2L 4-valve engine.
