Apple CarPlay - showing apple maps directions in head-up display. Question. Hey everybody, So yesterday I saw a Video on UK BMW's official yt account, where they started some directions in apple maps, and you could see the directions on your head-up display. I think that's a great feature, but I can't make it happen in my car.
How to get Navigation on Heads up display from Google Maps on BMW? I just switched to Apple and found out that only Apple Maps shows the step by step direction on the heads up display on my BMW when connected via CarPlay. If I change the navigation app to Google Maps/Waze, the directions no longer show up on the HUD.
Old post but I was scratching my head as to why heads up display was not working. It's amazing how quickly you rectify an issue and get it resolved. This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
For reference, I have a 2017 JCW. Thanks for the help. I think the head up display toggle switch is the right under the passenger temp control. Oh, and download the mini motorers guide app. Better than the manual. Thank you. I most likely hit it somehow.

Not quite my experience. This is my 3rd car with heads up and the second BMW. All when wearing my prescription polarized sunglasses cuts about 1/2 the brightness of the display. Still viewable but dimmer…. I just tilt my head to the right a bit and it is full brightness again. Not ideal but still a useful feature I wouldn’t give up. Cheers!
