Engine - the Mk. VI didn't use the 1.9l TDI engine - they replaced it with the 2.0 TDI. Model Year - While production of the Mk. VI began in '08 the first model year it was used was 2009. Any 2008 car is going to be a Mk. V - and the only post-2008 Mk.V cars are 2.0 TFSI "GTI Edition 30" special edition cars (which ran until 2010)
